Interesting Public Sector case study on an ERP implementation: as many of us will have experienced over the years, the biggest risk with these type of enterprise application implementations is escalating third-party costs, but this commercial model takes away that risk, with no third-party system integrator and all supplier costs fixed for the full-term. #PublicSector #ERP

Pardon me as I scream into the void of LinkedIn a little bit. The process to change your email address on Deliveroo makes no sense, and I've seen similar on other websites... 1. You sign in and go to your account details 2. The email field tells you to contact support to change it 3. When you email support, they say that for security reasons, they need you to provide your full name, email, phone number, and the delivery address used in your most recent Deliveroo order. Most of this information is on the account details page, and the rest is on the Order history section. So it leaves me wondering... what exactly is the point of this "security"? Why can't apps like Deliveroo and others deflect this pointless customer service interaction? It is literally worse than security through obscurity. Total theatre unless I'm missing something. UPDATE! - It gets even worse! To start with some humour… As much as I appreciate the CAR approach (which I think is a great start for anyone beginning their job application journey), I am still loyal to the STAR approach. My peers often argue that CAR and STAR are basically the same thing, but I am “traditionally glued” to STAR because, well, I have used it for so long, it feels like home 😂😂😂. The CAR approach does an excellent job of making storytelling engaging and candidates’ narratives more dynamic, and I completely agree that it’s great for showcasing experiences. However, I stick with STAR because it allows me to break things down in a way that fully appreciates my experience. Not only do I describe the Situation (or context, as in CAR), but I also get to outline the Tasks, the expectations and responsibilities tied to that situation, before diving into the Actions I took. This extra layer gives me the flexibility to make my actions more relatable to the interviewer by framing them within clear expectations, and that’s something I find invaluable. In the end, both approaches have their strengths, but for me, STAR just feels like an old reliable friend! Day 6 - on annual leave, started with escorting my youngest daughter to a hospital appointment, back home for some pottering about getting ready for 2 of our granddaughters coming for a sleepover, then out to surprise the other 2 granddaughters joining Mummy on the nursery and school pick up.
