Internet Explorer 9 – Latest Microsoft Browser Version Topped W3C Compliance Test

by Wasim Ismail on December 6, 2010

Web developments require standard compliance testing. The website display is a vital area to look at before launching a website; it should display consistent layouts to mostly used web browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Visitors will not understand why a website display is exploded and why some parts are missing or dislocated, they will simply go away and look for another website.

Browser compatibility is one of the necessary issues that web developers should look at. They sometimes create different CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for each browser just to make the site looks the same as the rest of other browsers. Internet Explorer browsers are normally pains to most developers. Microsoft has their own standards and not much following the standard conformance.

Recently, W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) released results of HTML5 conformance. Miraculously, IE 9 topped the test, surpassing Firefox and Google Chrome. This is something to be excited about not only for users but specially for web developers. See the conformance test results below:

On the other hand, what are the features that we may expect from the new IE 9? See as follows:

  1. Fast. It downloads faster and starts faster.
  2. Clean.Layout is more organized, navigation tabs are enhanced and notification bars are visible without going out of your current displays.
  3. Trusted. Securities in Add On, Compatibility View and various Filters are enhanced.

IE 9 will possibly be lesser pains for web developers as it follows the standard compliance. Yes it is true, a good news to be thrilled about.
