I hate my logo, now what?

“I hate my logo!!!”  Mentioned a business owner I went to see recently. Don’t worry you’re not alone, if you ask around, many business also tend to start to disliking their logo. The main reason of this is care was not taken when first designing the logo. This is quite understandable, as a business owner, your focus may be on setting up your online business, carrying out other tasks, and you probably haven’t given the 100% attention to your logo in the beginning that you should have, or secondly your just bored of your logo and want a change, as you see it day in day out, and everywhere in your business, on your letterheads, website…etc. you name it. Which is good, your logo should be everywhere.

Never mind, it’s never too late, and we can always change your logo or improve it to how you want it to be now. Many corporate businesses have changed their logos as years have gone along. See below:

From the above logos you can see some have just done minor changes to adapt to time, where else some have changed their logos completely. Ideally a good logo should stand the test of time, and the need to completely redesign your logo should not really occur, and if one needs to update the logo, it should still be the same logo but just a more modern version of it, to make it relevant in the current time.

Changing your logo means, changing your brand, updating all your stationery, starting again with building your presence, which can be quite a task. What you need to look at is how important is it for your business to have a rebrand.

Sometimes with time your business logo does become out dated, as everything is always changing in the world, what works today, may not work tomorrow. Your logo maybe one of the ones where at the time of designing it original it did wonders and worked in building your brand, but now in the current time, that same logo may not work, it may look cartoonist, or not corporate, or even may not even portray the correct image of your business now, where in this instance it does become important for you to change your business logo.

  • Logo gets out-dated
  • Companies services change
  • One gets bored of the logo
  • Logo is not giving out the right image
  • Your logo is to complicated
  • Your business has been bought by another company
