“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”
– Helen Keller (1880–1968)
Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m waiting for an opportunity”, or “I am looking for a perfect chance”, but to be honest sometimes the opportunity may just be staring right at you, and you may not even notice it. This could be in anything:
- General life,
Whatever the case, we sometimes get so used to the norm or ignoring or assuming things, that we miss out the real opportunities when the rise.
Someone once told me ‘I’m sure it’s a quote, that we are so used to throwing stones away, in search for the perfect stone, that when we do find the stone that we were looking for we also throw that away.
In business, opportunities will come and go, but you have to go out looking for them, do not expect things to happen if you do not try, If you have missed one opportunity do not been disheartened or put down, as you can’t win every single sale, but instead look closer at what went wrong and how you can improve it on the next chance. Especially in a sales environment you can be really disheartened or get put down if you have just put all of your energy and heart in to closing a sale, and it did not go according to plans, but do not let this get to you…get your courage together again and start again on a new lead.
At the end of the day, business will always be a challenge and not a walk in the park, do not get use to being disheartened and being negative, always stay on the positive side, and keep an eye out for new opportunities.
